Terms and Conditions: “Thames Summer Goldrush” Promotion
1. Promoter
The promoter of this competition is the Thames Business Association.
2. Promotion Period
The promotion runs from 12:01 AM, 1 December 2024, to 11:59 PM, 28 February 2025 (NZDT). Entries outside this period will not be accepted.
3. Eligibility
- Participants must be aged 18 years or older at the time of entry.
- Employees of the Thames Business Association, its affiliates, and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
- Purchases must be made at businesses located within the Thames ward, defined as the Waikawau River in the north and Hikutaia in the south.
4. How to Enter
- Spend $20 or more in a single transaction at any business in the Thames ward during the promotion period.
- Upload a clear photo of your receipt at www.explorethames.nz/goldrush to complete your entry.
- Enter your contact details so we can contact the winner.
- Each receipt counts as one entry, and participants may enter up to 10 times.
- You cannot upload the same receipt twice.
5. Prize
The prize is a real raw gold nugget:
- Weight: 5.47g.
- Approx size: 12mm x 11mm x 3mm
- Gold Purity: Approx 93–96% – 22-23 Karats.
- Cost: $1,887inc GST at the time of purchase.
- Source: Hokitika, New Zealand.
The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash.
6. Winner Selection and Notification
- The winner will be selected via a random draw by 5 March 2025.
- The winner will be notified via the email address or phone number provided during entry submission.
- If the winner does not respond within 10 business days of notification, a new winner will be drawn.
7. Conditions of Entry
- Receipts must be legible and show the date, amount spent, and the business name. Illegible or incomplete entries may be disqualified.
- Entries submitted through fraudulent means or that breach these Terms and Conditions will be void.
8. Publicity
By entering, participants agree to the use of their name and image for promotional purposes related to this competition without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
9. Liability
- The Thames Business Association is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries or technical failures preventing entry submissions.
- The Thames Business Association accepts no responsibility for any variation in the prize’s value due to retail price or market fluctuations.
10. Privacy
Personal information provided for the competition will be used solely for the purpose of this promotion and in accordance with New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020. Participants’ data will not be shared with third parties without consent.
11. Disputes
In the event of a dispute regarding any aspect of the competition, including eligibility, the decision of the Thames Business Association will be final and binding.
12. Modifications and Termination
The Thames Business Association reserves the right to modify or terminate the promotion at its discretion if unforeseen circumstances arise.
