The Thames Battle of Britain Commemorations, at the Thames
Airfield, started in the present form in September 2020 with the
erection and inauguration of Stage 1 of the memorial to Air Chief
Marshal, Sir Keith Park – the full-sized replica Hurricane Fighter.

Services have been held each year since, attended by senior
representatives of RNZAF, UK Defence Advisor to New Zealand, Hon Scott Simpson,
TCDC, ATC Cadets, and the Thames and Districts RSA.

This year the event will be held at 11:00am Sunday 15th September
at the Thames Airfield. The Kerepehi Brass Band will again be in
attendance and playing for us.
