Thames Business Association Membership

Whatever benefits membership provides you, joining the TBA also helps to grow the area’s business climate. It increases our collective voice when making submissions to Council on plans and/or projects which may impact your business and/or our community as a whole.
We offer the opportunity to share resources, unite on important issues and develop new tools for growing your profitability.
We are here to provide you with opportunities to network and share information and resources. If you are a new business owner, we can provide you with contact information for other local businesses, speeding up the process of integrating into the community. You also get a chance to introduce yourself at a Business After 5 event, which is held monthly and to have a mention in our fortnightly Five Bullet Friday which has a 70% open rate and is read by nearly 600 people.
We also run a strong advocacy programme, aimed at supporting business owners/operators when navigating the various rules and requirements imposed by Council.

You gain priority access to upcoming events, including professional development workshops such as our very popular Business Accelerator programme. You have an opportunity to be featured on our website: https://explorethames.nz and to advertise in the Info Centre at special members’ rates.

TBA Membership Fees

We have a tiered fee structure to support all of our businesses.

  • Corporate Fees • $250 +gst per annum
  • Sole Proprietorship/NGO • $125 +gst per annum
  • Community/Not-for-profit organisation • $55 +gst per annum
  • and Associate*: $55 +gst per annum

*This is for people wanting to support the TBA and receive the fortnightly bulletin, but who don’t qualify in the above categories, or live outside the Thames Ward. Associate members are not entitled to vote.
