Thames Info Centre

THAMES INFO CENTRE

Located at 200 Mary Street in the Civic Centre by the bus stop, the centre serves as a hub to provide much-needed information and advice to visitors exploring Te Kauaeranga Thames, the Coromandel Peninsula and beyond.

The friendly team of staff and volunteers are excited to share their local knowledge, and with a suite of specially designed maps and brochures, they can help guide visitors to make the most of their experience.

Display stands direct visitors to shopping districts, cafes, historical attractions, short and long walks, freedom camping spots, beaches, swimming holes, and more. Thames’ history is also showcased, from the Māori heritage of Te Kauaeranga and Captain Cook’s explorations to the gold rush of 1867.

The Info Centre offers booking services for the Intercity bus as well as attractions and accommodation throughout New Zealand. They also offer luggage storage, phone charging, photocopying, cold drinks, local artisanal and Thames wares, including postcards, tees, and other merchandise.

Stop in, say hello to the team, and discover more about our charming little town!
