Te Kura o Te Kauaeranga, Te Whariki Mānawāhine o Hauraki Women’s Refuge, Waste Management NZ in collaboration with The Thames Business Association (TBA) welcome you to this Years “Te Kauaeranga Whānau Day”

The Santa Parade, presented again by the TBA, with the generous support of the Thames Community Board, is on Saturday 9th of December 2023. The Santa Dash will raise funds for the new Porritt Park Destination Playground and Changing Places Facility. It will also kick off the day’s events at last years start point on the corners of Cochrane/Pollen Streets at 10:50am, heading south on Pollen Street, followed by the first float at 11am. Floats will continue to Te Kura o Te Kauaeranga Grey Street field entrance where they will be on display.

Our Guest MC for the afternoon will be Allan Judd who will be looking after the day’s events and introducing our local talent with the events Sound Systems Sponsored by Dave Greenslade of Turua.

Last Years Overall Winners Moanataiari School will be responsible for introducing Santa at this years Parade and Whānau Day.

This year Santa will be making an entrance during the Parade on a Horse Drawn Cart Sponsored by Goldfields Mall, and available for a selfie at “Santa’s Grotto” created and donated by mums from Thames Kindergarten, with the support of Thames Coromandel District Council.

Prize giving will be held during the Whānau Day, with Santa Dash and Parade Awards to be presented by local dignitaries. Overall winner for Education I (Kōhanga, ECE and Primary School) category will get the opportunity to bring Santa back in 2024
